Ono Itoe
Ono itoe is a young Chinese illustrator based between Shanghai and Paris. She earned her master’s degree from Tsinghua University, one of China’s most prestigious academic institutions. For years, she has captivated audiences with illustrations distinguished by their sense of innocence and vivid, radiant color palettes.
Deeply influenced by avant-garde movements such as Dadaism and Constructivism, her work constructs unique visual worlds through imaginative forms and dynamic linear structures. Ono itoe is also an inquisitive creator who actively explores multiple artistic disciplines; her daily practice often draws inspiration from music, theatre, and literature.
In 2025, her works were exhibited at prominent institutions including the Shanghai Museum, the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, and the Beijing National Convention Center. Her practice has been recognized with numerous major international and domestic awards, including the BIBF 2025 international illustration Gold Award, the 2020 World Packaging Star Gold Award, and the Professional Award of the China Illustration Biennial—firmly establishing her distinctive position within the contemporary Chinese illustration landscape.
